St Cloud Story time

I took the kids to story time regularly at the South Sioux City library when we lived in Iowa. I took Lane to a baby story time and the boys to a preschool story time. We also attended special events and family story time at that same library.
Since moving back to Florida over a year ago, I haven't found the same enthusiasm or friendliness at other story times. I know we were spoiled by the librarian there because we became friends. Maybe my expectations are high from those experiences but I want someone who does more than read a book and who makes us feel welcome when we arrive.
Lane was thrilled when I asked her if she wanted to attend story time. I finally found a story time I like in our area. It's family friendly and it was interactive. The story time was for kids ages 3-5 and focuses on barns this time. The librarian read two books, sang songs,
performed finger plays, danced with kids and showed the kids flannel board stories. Lane was engaged the entire time. We will definitely go back and I might take the boys to the school age story time to see if they like it as well

Tea! Tea!

We took the kids to dinner at the local Japanese restaurant Friday evening. The service was terrible but the sushi was out of this world. Lane devoured it and kept asking for tea.
Tea? I was confused because she doesn't drink tea. She pointed to the soy sauce and demanded more tea. Ohhhh - it looked like a mini tea pot! What a silly goose.
We went to the Hello Kitty store for story time. Hello Kitty joined the story reader while she read two books. My children were very well behaved and got a photo opportunity with Hello Kitty.
What a fun family evening.

We LOVE story time

We have been attending story time at the South Sioux City library for over two years. It's a fantastic library. The kids are comfortable with the children's library, Ms. Odessa, and enjoy looking at the birds. I've also discovered FREE movie "rentals" there. Seriously, why didn't I figure that out sooner?!! All three of my children are now on YouTube for the story time! If you live in the area, I highly recommend checking their story times out with your children.

Skippyjon Jones

We went to story time at South Sioux City library. We have been going regularly for the past year and a half. The children's librarian there is fantastic. She played a Skippyjon Jones CD while showing the book. My kids LOVED it! If you have children the same ages, I highly recommend Judy Schachner's books.

Day 3 of single parenting - I don't know how to set our alarm clock but knew Gabriel would wake up in time. Apparently, he did wake up but didn't wake me up. Instead I opened my eyes at 7:35 to see him playing games on my phone. This was almost an hour later than usual, leaving us about 20 minutes to get in the van to leave. YIKES!! Somehow I got everyone dressed, the dogs outside, everyone fed, etc... by 8 am. GO ME! And I didn't lose my patience... big gold star for me! The rest of the day went well and included a visit to the nature center, a grocery store run, and an trip to Able Kids.
